Republic Wireless – Best for Light Users

republic-wireless-logo

Republic Wireless was designed to simplify the consumer experience and help folks save money on their cell phone bills. The carrier uses a unique Wi-Fi calling technology that switches between Wi-Fi and cell usage based on what’s optimal in any particular location.

When connected to a Wifi internet connection, Republic Wireless automatically makes calls and sends messages through the WiFi internet connection, which is very cheap to do. When WiFi is not available, the Republic utilizes cellular towers like every other cellular provider.

Republic’s idea is to use WiFi data whenever possible to make cell service more affordable since cellular data costs so much more to use.

Republic’s main monthly plan is really simple: $15 per month for unlimited talk and text. Data is added at $5 per gigabyte. So, a 1GB plan is $20 per month, 2GB is $25, and so forth. In addition to its monthly prepaid plans, Republic Wireless has an annual plan that can save you money. Customers get two months free when they pay for a year in advance.

Republic Wireless Logo

Republic Wireless gives you coverage from Sprint and T-Mobile 4G LTE networks for an amazing discounted price. You can check the carrier’s coverage in your area by entering your zip code on the Republic Wireless coverage map page.

Republic Wireless allows you to bring your own device, but first, you’ll want to check the Bring Your Own Phone Page to see if your phone is compatible with Republic Network. Enter your ESN/IMEI/MEID code and the system will lead you through an easy process to see if the phone is compatible.

To make the most of the service and customize it to your needs and expectations, you will need the Republic Wireless app. It will let you adjust your account’s settings, monitor and manage data usage, set up and check voicemail, and more.

If you’re not happy with Republic Wireless, the company offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on new service lines.

Visible – Extreme Value Yet Affordable

visible logo

If you think you’re paying too much for cell phone service on Verizon’s network, you may want to consider Visible. With Visible’s mobile plan, you’ll get unlimited talk, text, and data for $40 a month, with no data speed caps, no extra taxes or fees, and no major coverage gaps.

There aren’t any contracts to worry about, the $40/month price includes taxes and fees, and you can sign up for Visible entirely through the company’s website or app, and if you don’t like their service after a month or so, you can cancel without worries (or fees).

Visible plans pricing

Visible introduced Party Pay. You get the same unlimited plan but a cheaper price for groups of two, three, or four. Visible’s new Party Play plan means you can pay $25 a month for four people, $30 a month for three people, or $35 a month for two people.

Party pay is not a traditional family plan. Visible doesn’t require that users be family members or even know each other in real life. There’s no sharing of personal information and every person in your “party” is responsible for their own line and billing.

You can join a party at any time, and you can also leave a party at any time. Each person gets the same group savings, and the savings increase the more people you have.

There are two ways to get Visible service: bring your own device or buy one from Visible. If you going to bring your device to Visible, I strongly recommend double-checking your device’s IMEI number with Visible’s compatibility tool.

Visible isn’t for everyone, but they certainly provide one heck of a good deal on wireless and one of the best unlimited plans on the Verizon network.

  • $40 per month: Unlimited Talk, Text, and Unlimited LTE Data.

Xfinity Mobile – Best Value for Comcast Internet Users

xfinity mobile logo

Xfinity Mobile is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) run by Comcast. As an MVNO, Xfinity Mobile does not operate its own wireless network. Instead, Xfinity Mobile piggybacks on Verizon’s network.

The first thing you should know about Xfinity Mobile is that its mobile services are available only to people who’ve already signed up for Comcast/Xfinity residential internet.

Xfinity Mobile has two main pricing choices, an unlimited data plan, or a pay-by-the gig plan. The bare minimum $12 plan gets you 1GB of data along with unlimited talk and text. If you go beyond 1GB, you are charged an additional $12 per GB.

The Xfinity Mobile $45/month Unlimited plan works on a per-line basis. This plan gives you unlimited data, with the first 20GB at full speed. Once you exceed 20GB in a month, your data may be throttled to 1.5 Mbps.

XFINITY Mobile Plans Pricing

Xfinity Mobile offers subscribers a lot of flexibility in their plans. It’s possible to switch between tiers on the By the Gig plan or switch between By the Gig and Unlimited plans in the middle of a billing cycle.

Xfinity Mobile runs on Verizon’s strong and reliable network, but it’s Xfinity’s more than 18 million Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide that can help subscribers cut costs by only paying for the data they use.

A combination of Comcast’s 18 million Wi-Fi hotspots and Verizon’s network will supply coverage, and automatically switch between Wi-Fi and cellular depending on network conditions.

  1. A prepaid phone can also reduce your costs. Each call is more expensive, but in the long run it could save money. Prepaid phones are great for kids who are in the ‘are they old enough for their own phone stage?’ A family with three kids could share one prepaid phone for when the kids go out.

  2. my daughter and I need the cheapest cell phone plan for two phones for unlimited talking and texting only, roaming included. Please email me your advice?
    Thanks.
