tello logo

When you think of unlimited data plans, you probably think of overly expensive ones that are simply too costly to even consider joining.

With Tello, that’s not the case. For only $39/mo, you get unlimited talk, text, and unlimited data that will have a hard cap at 25 GB. When 25GB is reached, your 4G LTE Data will be throttled down to 2G speeds.

Tello offers free calls to Mexico, Canada, and China along with the U.S. and also lets you use your smartphone as a portable hotspot free of charge, which is somewhat unique as most carriers charge a premium for this.

All of Tello’s plans are prepaid and come without a contract. So you’ll have the flexibility to upgrade, update, downgrade or cancel your plan through their website or mobile app with no extra fees.

Tello operates on the Sprint network. This means they use Sprint’s cell towers (which are CDMA) as their backbone so if you’re in an area that has good Sprint coverage then they might be a good fit for you. Also, with Tello, you can either buy one of their phones to use with their plans or use your own phone (click here to check if your phone is compatible).

Xfinity Mobile – Best for Comcast Internet Subscribers

xfinity mobile logo

Xfinity Mobile is best for current Xfinity customers looking for unlimited data on the Verizon network. Xfinity Mobile is unlike other mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) because you must be an Xfinity internet customer to sign up for the service.

Comcast’s unlimited plan is the cheapest single-line offer compared to the major wireless providers.  Xfinity Mobile has been offering cheap unlimited plans to its current customers that subscribe to the top tier of Comcast’s services, dubbed X1.

The unlimited plan costs $45 and has no line access fees for up to five lines. Taxes and fees are extra. It also comes with a soft cap, too. If you use more than 20GB of data per month, Comcast says it will reduce your internet speed down to 1.5Mbps, so be aware of that.

XFINITY Mobile runs on the Verizon network. Meaning you’ll get the same reliability and coverage as customers with Verizon. In addition to Verizon’s cellular network, Xfinity Mobile’s subscribers can connect automatically to Xfinity hotspots.

There are about 20 million Xfinity hotspots scattered throughout the United States. Often, these hotspots can deliver strong connections in areas where cellular signals tend to be weak. Xfinity shares a map of hotspot locations on its website.

There are no contracts with Xfinity Mobile. You can leave at any time, if you’re not happy, without penalty or early termination fee. However, you may have to pay off the remaining balance on your phone and plans (which is fair).
